Camping in Messanges

Famous since the 13th century, the town of Messanges, once a stopover for pilgrims, is now firmly on the French tourist circuit. On the road to Santiago de Compostela, here you can discover monuments and paths that have been classed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1998. Its 34 km² of greenery and its sandy beaches make this little town one of the jewels of Landes. With around a thousand inhabitants, it becomes a prime tourist destination in the summer months.

The pretty town of Messanges, its tourist office and its partners give globe-trotters a warm welcome. Our campsites at Messanges provide accommodation that befits the quality of life in this town, so full of history, nature, sport and regional delicacies. An outstanding welcome from the local inhabitants means you can be sure of a pleasant stay.

Things to see and do

Situated between Moliets and Vieux Boucau, in the South of Landes, Messanges boasts an incredible forest of 3400 hectares, where you can enjoy wonderful walks and picnics. In the shelter of this lush greenery, nature-lovers can discover animal species of many different shapes and sizes. The Regional Nature Park of the Landes de Gascogne offers the chance of seeing bats, common cranes or European pond turtles. This splendid animal reserve also lets you enjoy its superb beaches. Most of them are supervised, and offer naturist zones (the town of Messanges allows naturism, but only on unsupervised beaches). Messanges, with its magnificent long beach of 5km, allows you to admire the scenery of the Silver Coast. Both beginners and experts can indulge in cycling, surfing, paddle boarding, canoeing, rafting, quad-biking and even sand-yachting.

Messanges, a little village with big attractions, is a must-see.
