Balazuc, built like a belvedere atop a cliff overlooking the Ardèche, is among France's most beautiful villages. A stroll through its streets plunges you into the heart of the Middle Ages: as you wander, you can admire trilobed windows, broken arch doorways, vaulted passages, and cobblestone streets.

Labeaume unfolds its golden stone houses along the banks of the eponymous river. From the hanging gardens, arranged on terraces built during the 18th century to gain arable land, a panoramic view opens up to you. Paths promise you a journey back to a millennia-old past, discovering dolmens erected by the peoples who once lived here.

Another favorite, the village of Rochecombe, nestles against a rocky peak in a postcard-perfect setting. Its steep, narrow streets lead you to the old castle, from which a panoramic view opens onto the surroundings.

The Ardèche territory has been inhabited since antiquity. In a cave located in the Vallon Pont d'Arc area, our distant ancestors left a thousand engravings and paintings for posterity. A faithful reproduction of the Chauvet Cave has been built to allow the general public to safely admire these moving testimonies of humanity.
