The campsite is located in Matosinhos, a large coastal town whose long and beautiful beaches are popular among the inhabitants of Porto. It is not very picturesque, except on the immediate seafront, so apart from its famous fish and seafood restaurants and its old fortress, it will not keep you for very long.
Just 18 km from the campsite, you will find yourself right in the vibrant heart of Porto, Portugal's second-largest city. There is certainly no shortage of things to see and do. Take the time to stroll through the historic centre and the narrow streets of the Ribeira district, and admire the azulejos decorating the walls of the old houses. Be sure to also take the opportunity to sample the world-famous Douro wines.
